A Tilman Evening - November 23rd

On the eve of the launch of the replica of Tilmans first Pilot Cutter ‘Mischief’ (built in Cardiff 1906) there will be a an evening dedicated to Bill Tilman and his Adventures to the Far corners of the World.

On Friday 23rd of November 2007.
Starting at 19:00
In the Quarterdeck Bar of the Cardiff Bay Yacht Club.

The Television producer and director John Mead introduces a showing of his two acclaimed documentary programmes:

‘No pay – No prospects – Not much pleasure’ - An account of a life that included 26 years of sailing Bristol Channel Pilot Cutters to the Arctic and the Antarctic

And

‘It’s a Bit British’ – A portrait of a race that starts from Tilmans’ home town of Barmouth and includes his two loves – climbing mountains and sailing boats, and is intended as a tribute that mirrors his exploits during his life.

John Mead will answer questions and talk briefly about his hero between showings.
